"We're out to discover!" - Scuttle

While lacking on the Etsy front, happiest things™ has excelled in other offerings. August through October marks many a Merry Birthdays, and of course, the unBirthdays as well. We drew our inspiration from the loves of those we love, er...what makes our loved ones happy.

Merry Birthday to...

Cousin Danny, August 3rd
Grama Jimmie, August 16th
The Twins, August 23rd
Brudder Scott, September 2nd
Sister Sara, September 17th
Cousin and ht™ partner Sandy, September 26th
Niece Gabriella, October 1st
Mama Sheri, October 16th
Cousin Jenny, October 19th
Uncle Steve, October 23rd
Cousin Amy, October 30th
Whoa, what a swim!

August 23rd: Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum make an appearance at the happiest place on earth. Thank you Disneyland for allowing us to celebrate our Birthday with you! Brandi loves a good cozy quilt. Thanks to my favorite little fabric shop in Livermore, In Between Stitches, giving Brandi an ever-so-cute handmade quilt was easy-peasy.

September 2nd: Oh my Godzilla! Scott celebrated his Birthday in the Land of Grove with his pals and gals. When asked what type of cake he wanted, brudder requested Godzilla. You ask, and you shall receive. Laura and Soid Q. exceeded his expectations! Complete with strawberry fire and a mini replica of Scott's Nismo, Godzilla roared. It was a grand morning of baking with lil' Spud. She is swell.

September 17th & October 1st: Cupcakes galore! Gabi's 1st Birthday party theme was all about cupcakes. So of course I had to make a Cupcake Clutch for her Mama too...

And we can't have a little princess turn 1 without a little princess flare added to her sweet cupcakes. Merry Birthday Gabi Girl!

September 26th: Jumpin' jellyfish! We wished upon a starfish! Merry Birthday to Sandy, our resident ht™ co-creator. Now, one wouldn't be correct in calling us Disney fans. No. We live, breathe, and think all things Disney. Walt Disney was a genius. However difficult your childhood may be; however bad a day you might be having; however stomped on you may feel - the clever works of good ol' Walt pushes us to keep dreaming, and zippadeedoodah our way through any wickedness life may give us. It's only fitting to celebrate a golden Birthday for a dinglehopper of a girl like Sandy in Disneyland. It was truly magical! And thank you Birthday girl for making us all custom fitted ear beanies! They were a hit!

We're looking forward to the holiday season...full of candy corn, delicious grey stuff, and pumpkin pie. Until next time...Bippidi Boppidi BOO!

"We're all mad here." -Cheshire Cat

It's been a crazy couple of weeks. July marked a lot of studying and logging flight time for our resident pilot (now a Commercial Pilot as of 8/3/09!). Yes folks, he sure can fly...in the literal sense. At happiest things™ (ht™), flying high is what we strive for...only in the happy thinking and pixie dust sort of sense. For ht™, July marked a lot of creative thinking and many a fabric fixes.

happiest things™ presents (coming soon on Etsy)...

Meet Cinderellie.
Our first of the Disney-esque Rag Doll collection, Cinderellie loves staying up late, eating pumpkin pie, and daydreaming of better days while doing her many chores. And, she looks absolutely amazing in blue. She is loved by all who know her (except those with jealousy issues) and has a knack for sewing.

And then there's Lady. And what a beautiful little lady she is! She loves to read the newspaper to follow up on current Park Avenue happenings. Her favorite food is spaghetti with extra meatballs from Tony's, and she loves walks in the park and warm, cozy fires.

Our First Projects!

Now that we have the set up of our workshop complete, we can start doing the fun stuff. PROJECTS!We have two projects in the works right now. The first is a Rag Doll with a Cinderella twist. This is the first prototype in a series of Rag Dolls with a Disney Princess theme. The pattern has needed some tweaking and the dress has gone through more than a few adaptations. Trust me when I tell you, when you see the finished project you are going to want an entire set of Rag Doll Princesses for yourself.

Our next project is a crochet blanket. The crochet work on the blanket is complete, but we still have some pixie dust left to sprinkle on this one. That's right! This is going to be a Tarzan themed blanket!
Actually we are loving this one so much we think that we are going to keep it for ourselves.
If you really really like this blanket send us an email at happiestthings@gmail.com and we'll make one for you.
In the mean time you're going to have to keep thinking happy thoughts.
Check back with us soon to see these projects completed!

"You've never seen such a place" - Jiminy Cricket

Introducing the happiest things™ workshop, where happy thoughts come to life. Its been a work-in-progress for about nine months now, but it is finally ready. We're really good at making messes, but this workshop allows us to do so in an orderly fashion.
Here, anything is possible, and you don't have to worry about ever growing up!

We are really excited to start bringing you some dinglehoppers and snarfblats that we hope will bring happy thoughts to everyone who sees them.

The BERNINA activa 131 circa 2001 is sitting on this large workstation with loads of nooks'n'crannies to stuff all of our crafting supplies.

We use this 3' x 5' cutting table to layout, work on, and cut out upcoming projects.

Also set up is a workstation for the WHITE 3300 embroidery machine (purchased solely for the Disney memory card). Hopefully upgraded to a VIKING machine some day.
